Key Looks for spring/summer 2009
According to Marie Claire, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and other major fashion magazines these are the key looks for spring/summer 2009.
Trend 1: Oriental Prints, Kimonos & Silk
Designers have travelled the globe to bring us a colourful mix of prints and tailoring. Look out for Japanese prints and origami folding.
Trend 2: Wildwest and Native
American
Native American beading teamed
up with fringing, leather and denim.
Go simple with a bag or a make a statement with a top or dress.
Trend 3: Back to the 80's
Think Bananarama and you have the look for this 80's inspired revival.
Trend 4: Floral continues
Last years florals are teamed up with stripes and broderie anglaise for this year's twist.
Trend 5: Sporty Spice
Think gym wear but smartly tailored and you will have this look. Neutral colours in silk & chiffon.
Key Colours for 2009
Colour is key again this season and it is fantastic to see such a selection in the shops.
Electric, cornflower, cobalt or peacock - blue is this season's trend, which is great - for all of us can wear our own personalised hues from our seasonal palette.
A spicy palette of oranges, apricots, corals, ochres and browns are popular this season. Great for those with an autumn seasonal palette and some of the spring corals & reds!
A tricky mix to wear but these two are appearing together all over the catwalks this spring. I would suggest wearing with a bright accessory or skirt/jacket to avoid looking washed out.
Oranges & Yellows
